In line with our new and improved School motto
Be kind to yourself
Be kind to others
Be kind to the planet.
We have pledged to keep Britain Tidy at Dearham Primary School. Next week year 5 and year 1 will be taking part in The great british spring clean by carrying out a litter pick in the village.
Also, this morning our Pupil Parliament took part in a nationwide live stream with #gbschoolclean where they took part in a quiz about litter, talked about how to litter pick safely and the importance of taking care of our planet.
Did you know every sea turtle alive today is believed to have some sort of plastic in their tummy due to people dropping litter on the beaches and in the ocean? 😔
Please Feel free to pledge to pick up a bag at keepbritaintidy.org

This week, we introduced a new award into our weekly celebration assembly.
Mrs. Oultram contacted us to suggest the Community Award, after noticing Molly's lovely manners, behaviour and kindness at home time one day. Molly was kind to a friend who was upset, helped another friend to carry a bag and stopped the group of children she was with so parents could get past.
Thank you to Mrs Oultram - this is a lovely idea, and a great new tradition to add to our school.
The idea is that parents and grandparents will nominate children that they notice with beautiful manners. It could be in the playground before or after school, or around our village.
If anyone has any future suggestions for a nomination for the Community Award, please email admin.dearham@changinglives.education with your nomination and the reason for your nomination ❤️

On Wednesday 22nd March. We took a group of children to Netherhall, to take part in a football tournament between the Maryport primary schools. We were very impressed and proud with how the children conducted themselves and how they represented our school. Every single one of them putting in 100% effort, meaning we came away with well deserved 2nd place. Only separated from first place by goal difference. Well done Dearham
❤️⚽️🥈
Thanks again to Miss Scott and your students for organising and running a great afternoon of sport.

Thank you so much for all your support. If anyone still has any sponsor money to hand in, please could you give it to your class teacher by the end of the week... we might even smash the £1000 mark!

Today, on International Women's Day, the FA encouraged girls all over England to take part in #LetGirlsPlay , to get as many girls as possible to join in the biggest ever football session.
We had 40 girls from Y4, 5 and 6 taking part. They spent their morning break playing football together.
We had such a fantastic time we decided to make it a weekly event, so every Wednesday is now going to be girls' football at first break time.
Well done everyone ❤️⚽️🥅🏃♀️

We love hearing from the families we help. If you have been helped by Team Evie and would like to share your story please get in touch!

Today, Greg from Team Evie came to visit us to tell us all about Team Evie and the work they do to help others. He introduced us to the Reading Challenge that we are going to do, starting on Thursday this week (World Book Day), until next Thursday 💚
Children will be bringing home a letter about the challenge, and a sponsor card and book mark. They can choose a challenge that is personal to them, which could be anything from reading a whole book in a week, to reading to a younger brother and sister every night.
If you would like to know more about the challenge, or to donate to sponsor someone online, please follow the link below:
